The Questions I Didn't Think To Ask
I think since school has been out for a while, there hasn’t been any groundbreaking co-parenting earthquakes going on. Maybe it’s because we have minimal interaction and there aren’t big decisions that need to be made for the boys.
Life seemed “calm” for a minute. And then divorce reality reared it’s ugly head…
I was laughing today thinking about how people advise you to ask the questions before getting married or having kids. Like about values / goals / ideals, etc. But you know what I didn’t think to ask while getting love bombed?
I forgot to ask about routine doctor appointments.
THANK GOD *knock on wood* I gave birth to healthy/ whole functioning children.
I forgot to ask my partner at the time if they believed in doctors and their medical professional advice.
I forgot to ask, “hey by the way, if an eye doctor thinks our child should get reading glasses, we get the reading glasses, right?”
Or “What about if the dentist sees a cavity, at two appointments in a row … we get the filling, right?”
Sadly these are real life questions I wish I asked.
